Tarot for the Collective

Welcome, my friends, to this week’s Tarot Forecast.

As we move deeper into October and Samhain draws close, our Anchor card for the month is the Queen of Wands, keeping us on an even keel. Her energy can show up as a steady inner flame: confident boundaries, creative courage, and a clear sense of what (and who) gets access to your time, attention, and spirit. When you feel yourself shrinking back or second-guessing, Queen of Wands energy reminds you to take up space with warmth and certainty.

With the veil thinning, many of us feel more porous. Add in the online world at this time of year, with its intensity, hot takes, and constant noise, and it can become a pressurised space that puts strain on the nervous system and your energetic field. This week’s reading is a grounded invitation to protect your spirit without armouring your heart.

Three tarot cards on a moon-and-stars cloth: The Sun, 10 of Wands, a flying raven, and King of Swords, with a small carved wolf crystal figure in front.
I photographed these wrong way around . . . oops. The Sun, 10 of Wands, King of Swords. Deck: Crow Tarot

What energies are currently affecting my spiritual wellbeing? King of Swords

The King of Swords arrives as a guardian of discernment. Right now, your spiritual wellbeing is being shaped by the quality of your thoughts, the information you consume, and the standards you set for what you allow into your mind. With Samhain approaching, curiosity can spike, and so can overexposure: too many opinions, too many “shoulds”, too much scrolling, too much spiritual noise. The King asks you to choose clarity over chaos.

This is also a call to clean up energetic agreements. Where have you been mentally negotiating with fear, comparison, or other people’s expectations? The King of Swords says: decide. Identify what’s true for you. Your protection strengthens when your inner world is led by your own wisdom, not by the loudest voice in the room.

Affirmation: My mind is clear, my boundaries are strong, and I choose what enters my energy.

Anchor influence (Queen of Wands): She adds confident self-trust here. Your “no” can be calm, your “yes” can be bold, and your presence can be magnetic without being available to everyone.

How can I align my intentions with my spiritual wellbeing? 10 of Wands

The 10 of Wands shows where your intentions may be sincere, yet your energy is over-committed. Your spiritual wellbeing improves when you stop carrying what was never yours to hold. This week, protection looks like load management: fewer energetic obligations, fewer emotional errands, fewer invisible responsibilities.

As Samhain nears, you might feel called to do more: more ritual, more learning, more offerings, more content, more “keeping up”. The 10 of Wands says your spirit needs space, not performance. Align your intentions by returning to basics: rest, hydration, grounding, and one or two practices you can actually sustain.

Ask yourself: what am I doing out of devotion, and what am I doing out of pressure? Release the pressure. Protection strengthens when your nervous system feels safe.

Affirmation: I release what isn’t mine. I choose simplicity, space, and sustainable devotion.

Anchor influence (Queen of Wands): She helps you prioritise with confidence. You can choose what matters, delegate what you can, and let your energy serve what truly lights you up.

How can I recognise and release any fears that hinder my spiritual protection? The Sun

The Sun brings a bright, cleansing truth: fear thrives in shadowy vagueness, and it loosens its grip when you bring it into the light. This week, your protection grows through honest self-witnessing. Notice where fear shows up as overthinking, doom-scrolling, people-pleasing, or second-guessing your intuition. Then ask: what’s the simplest truth underneath?

The Sun also reminds you that spiritual protection isn’t only about shielding. It’s about strengthening your life force. Joy, laughter, creativity, time outdoors, and honest connection are protective. When your energy is full, you’re less likely to hook into other people’s projections or the collective anxiety that can rise around Samhain.

Let fear be information, not instruction. Choose practices that bring you back to your body and back to the present moment.

Affirmation: I meet fear with truth. I return to joy, and my light keeps me safe.

Anchor influence (Queen of Wands): She amplifies your radiance and self-belief. Your confidence becomes a ward. Your joy becomes a boundary. Your warmth becomes a signal that you’re not available for draining energies.

(I placed the cards in the wrong order for the photograph. Apologies.)

Journal prompts

  • Where am I allowing too many voices into my mind, and what boundaries would restore my clarity?

  • What am I carrying that isn’t mine, and what would it feel like to set it down today?

  • When fear rises, what truth do I already know in my body, and what practice brings me back to it fastest?

This week’s Tarot Forecast is a clear message of protection through discernment (King of Swords), sustainable energy (10 of Wands), and life-force-led truth (The Sun), all anchored by the Queen of Wands reminding you that confidence and self-trust are powerful wards. As always, take what resonates, and leave aside what doesn’t!
