Welcome to June, dear souls! As the year’s wheel turns, we find ourselves basking in the golden embrace of The Sun and The Empress—the cards I’ve chosen to guide us for June Tarot Inspiration. The Sun brings joy, celebration, and a touch of childlike wonder, inviting us to soak up every drop of light, warmth, and abundance that this season offers. Alongside, The Empress energy gently encourages us to slow down, savour the sensual pleasures of life, and honour the earth’s bounty.

One of my favourite Litha rituals is to connect with Empress energy by baking a lemon or orange drizzle cake. I stir positive vibes into the batter by setting intentions and giving thanks, and once the cake is baked, I turn each slice into a little ritual where I hit pause, find a comfy spot in the garden (Irish Summer weather permitting) and ensure I savour each mouthful in appreciation.
This month, we’ll explore the deeper meanings behind June’s pagan celebrations, discover simple rituals to connect with each date’s energy, and enjoy unique tarot spreads to guide your journey. Whether you’re new to these traditions or a seasoned soul, I hope you’ll find inspiration and practical magic to carry you through the month.
June’s Key Dates, Meanings & Rituals

10 June: Celtic Tree Month of Oak Begins
The mighty Oak stands at the heart of Celtic spirituality, often called the “doorway” between worlds. This tree is a symbol of endurance, deep roots, and ancient wisdom, revered for centuries as a guardian of sacred knowledge. The Oak’s energy teaches us to remain grounded during times of change and to draw strength from our core values. As the Oak month opens, it’s an invitation to build resilience, honour your personal growth, and recognise the wisdom you’ve gained through life’s challenges. In folklore, the Oak is also a meeting place for the divine and mortal, reminding us that strength is both physical and spiritual.
Simple Ritual:
Take a mindful walk among trees—if you can, find an oak. Place your hand on its trunk, close your eyes, and breathe deeply, imagining your energy connecting with the tree’s ancient wisdom.
Carry an acorn or oak leaf with you as a talisman of strength.
Journal: “Where in my life do I need more stability or courage?”
Tarot Spread: Oak’s Wisdom

1. Where am I being called to stand strong?
2. What wisdom can I draw from my past?
3. How can I nurture my resilience this month?
11 June: Full Strawberry Moon in Sagittarius
The Full Strawberry Moon is named after the ripening of strawberries, a symbol of sweetness, abundance, and the rewards of patience. This moon’s energy is about celebration after hard work, gratitude for nature’s gifts, and the joy of sharing with others. With Sagittarius as its sign, this full moon amplifies themes of adventure, optimism, and the pursuit of knowledge. It’s a powerful time to reflect on the journeys you’ve taken—both literal and spiritual—and to set your sights on new horizons. The Strawberry Moon encourages you to be bold in your ambitions, embrace your curiosity, and trust that your efforts will bear fruit.
Simple Ritual:
Gather strawberries (or any seasonal fruit) and share them with loved ones in gratitude for life’s sweetness.
Under the moonlight, set intentions for a goal you wish to bring to fruition. Speak them aloud or write them down.
Light a red candle for passion and motivation.
Tarot Spread: Moonlit Ambitions

1. What goal is ready for harvest?
2. What’s supporting my progress?
3. What’s holding me back?
4. How can I celebrate my achievements?
15 June: Father’s Day
Father’s Day is a modern celebration with ancient echoes—many cultures have long honoured the protective, guiding energy of the father figure. This day is an opportunity to express gratitude for the men and mentors who have shaped us, whether through love, support, or wisdom. It’s also a chance to reflect on the masculine qualities within ourselves: courage, responsibility, and the ability to nurture and protect. Father’s Day invites us to acknowledge both the presence and the absence of fatherly energy in our lives, offering space for gratitude, healing, and deeper understanding.
Simple Ritual:
Light a candle and offer gratitude for your father, ancestors, or any guiding figures in your life.
Write a letter (sent or unsent) expressing appreciation or seeking healing in your relationship.
Place a small token or photo on your altar to honour paternal energy.
Tarot Spread: Father’s Light

1. What wisdom have I received from fatherly figures?
2. How can I honour and heal my relationship with masculine energy?
3. How can I embody supportive strength for myself and others?
20–21 June: Litha / Summer Solstice
Litha, or the Summer Solstice, is one of the most celebrated points in the pagan wheel of the year. It marks the sun’s highest point in the sky and the longest day of light. Traditionally, this was a time of feasting, dancing, and honouring the life-giving force of the sun. Litha is associated with abundance, passion, and the peak of nature’s growth. It’s a reminder to celebrate your achievements, express gratitude for all that’s flourishing, and to share your light with others. As the sun begins its slow descent, Litha also encourages reflection on balance—embracing joy while preparing for the quieter seasons ahead.
Simple Ritual:
Rise at sunrise or spend time outdoors, soaking up the sun’s energy. Visualise it filling you with light and vitality.
Create a sun wheel or mandala from flowers, herbs, and natural objects as an offering to the earth.
Brew a cup of ceremonial cacao or herbal tea, and share a toast to the sun’s blessings.
Tarot Spread: Solstice Celebration

1. What is flourishing in my life right now?
2. Where can I invite in more light and joy?
3. What abundance am I being called to share?
4. How can I honour both celebration and coming change?

23 June: Day of the Lady & Lord of the Sidhe
This enchanting day is dedicated to the Sidhe, (pronounced Shee) the mystical “people of the mounds” in Irish folklore—guardians of nature, magic, and the unseen realms. The Lady and Lord of the Sidhe represent the divine feminine and masculine in their most magical, otherworldly forms. This is a time to honour the presence of faeries and nature spirits, to celebrate the hidden wonders of the world, and to acknowledge the balance between the tangible and the mystical. The day invites us to open our senses, trust our intuition, and find enchantment in the everyday. It’s a beautiful moment for connecting with the land and the ancient stories woven into it.
Simple Ritual:
Leave a small offering (bread, milk, honey, or wildflowers) at a tree, garden, or crossroads to honour the Fae.
Spend time in nature, listening for subtle signs and messages from the otherworld.
Meditate on the mystery and magic present in everyday life.
Tarot Spread: Sidhe’s Secrets

1. What magic is seeking my attention?
2. How can I deepen my connection to the unseen?
3. What can I do to honour the enchantment in my life?
24 June: Day of Household Deities
Across many cultures, household deities or “hearth spirits” are believed to protect and bless the home. This day is devoted to honouring these guardians by cleansing, refreshing, and rededicating your living space. It’s a time for families to come together, express gratitude for safety and shelter, and invite renewed harmony into the home. The tradition reminds us that our homes are sacred spaces—places where love, creativity, and rest flourish. By caring for our altars or sacred corners, we nurture a sense of belonging and spiritual well-being for everyone under our roof.
Simple Ritual:
Clean and rearrange your altar or sacred space. Light incense or sage to purify the area.
Place fresh flowers, water, or food as offerings to household deities or ancestors.
Invite family or housemates to share in a blessing or gratitude circle.
Tarot Spread: Home Harmony

1. What energy currently fills my home?
2. How can I invite in more protection and peace?
3. What needs to be released or refreshed?
4. What blessing is ready to enter my space?
25 June: New Moon in Cancer
The New Moon in Cancer is a deeply nurturing, introspective time. Cancer, ruled by the moon, governs emotions, intuition, and the bonds of family and home. This new moon invites us to retreat inward, tend to our emotional needs, and set intentions for healing and growth. It’s also a powerful moment for improving communication—both with ourselves and with those we care about. The energy encourages gentle self-reflection, active listening, and creating space for vulnerability. By honouring our feelings and expressing them honestly, we lay the foundation for more authentic and loving connections.
Simple Ritual:
Write in your journal about what you wish to nurture in yourself and your relationships.
Prepare a comforting meal, savouring each bite as an act of self-love.
Spend quiet time by the sea, a river, or even a bath, connecting with water’s soothing energy.
Tarot Spread: Nurture & Renew

1. What needs nurturing within me now?
2. How can I communicate with greater compassion?
3. What intention will support my emotional growth this cycle?
