Welcome to The Quiet Hearth, the theme of November’s tarot inspiration. For the souls who are craving warmth, connection, and a little more space to hear themselves, I welcome you across the threshold of this seasonal portal.

November is the month where the year begins to dim at the edges. The evenings pull in fast and close, and for many of us, the withdrawal gives our inner world the room to be heard after the busyness of Summer.

We begin this portal under the Cailleach’s Reign, the Day of the Banshees, on November 1st. This day honours the Crone aspect of the divine feminine and the beautiful wisdom that comes with age. As part of this celebration, we are also encouraged to embrace endings and transition, much like the Death card. Only two weeks later, we meet Hecate on her night of November 16th. This sacred evening is all about protection and guidance, and the steady light Hecate offers when you’re standing at a crossroads.

This month’s portal is an opportunity for you to cosy up by the hearth and drop into your heart centre. I encourage you to dally a while in a much-needed moment of stillness and inner connection. If you’ve been pushing, or feeling like you’re just about holding it all together, here’s your invitation to let go.

The Quiet Hearth is the part of you that knows how to be with your life, not just manage it. This month, as Winter makes her presence felt, you might notice:

  • Your energy changing shape; less appetite for busyness, more desire for simplicity

  • Emotions rising in waves; nostalgia, grief, relief, irritation, longing, or a sudden need to clear the air

  • Boundaries becoming obvious; what you can keep giving, and what you can’t

  • Relationships asking for honesty; the kind that stops you giving your power away

  • Creativity wanting quieter conditions; fewer inputs, more space to make something real

  • Your body asking for care; rest, warmth, hydration, slower mornings, earlier nights

The hearth isn’t about hiding from the world—as tempting as that might be right now. Frame it instead about choosing what you feed your fire with.

A note on pacing: you can work with this tarot inspo daily, weekly, or intuitively. There’s no right way to do it. If you miss days, you haven’t failed. The only rule is that there’s no rule.

Tarot (and journalling) as a compass

If you’re new here, welcome. You don’t need to be an expert reader to take part. To briefly explain, I use tarot in this series to reflect and direct. As a mirror, the cards reflect what’s already moving in your inner world, and as a compass, they help you choose your next step with more coherence.

Pairing tarot with journalling is powerful because it turns insight into integration. You move beyond pulling a card to noticing patterns, grasping what comes up, and practising a new way of responding. Just like the Cailleach and Hecate, you’re tapping into your own wisdom.

Choose your path: Lantern or Torch

This month you can once again follow one of two tracks, and yes, of course you can switch at any time. Here’s how it works.

Lantern Path (Beginner)

Supportive, confidence-building, focused on noticing and small shifts.

Torch Path (Seasoned)

Deeper, more direct, pattern-breaking, focused on truth, transformation, and integration.

How to choose:

  • Choose Lantern if you want steadiness, simplicity, or you’re rebuilding trust with your intuition

  • Choose Torch if you’re ready to name the pattern, make a decision, or stop circling the same lesson

  • Choose both if you like to start with Lantern and then go deeper with Torch

You’ve got three easy ways to work with the prompts.

  1. Daily: use the 31 prompts as journal prompts or as one-card pulls

  2. Weekly: use the weekly 3-card spread (below) and then choose the two prompts for the week

  3. Intuitive: scroll, breathe, and pick the prompt you feel pulled towards

The Daily Prompts

Here's the prompt list for November. Remember, these can be used to journal, draw a card or simply reflect upon during the day. The list is available as a PDF download directly below, or you can screenshot the prompt graphics.

Week 1: Lighting the Hearth

The First Flame Spread

Theme Focus: Reconnect with what genuinely warms and replenishes you, and choose one simple action that keeps your energy burning cleanly.

Card 1: What wants to warm me from the inside this week?

Card 2: What is dimming my energy or focus?

Card 3: What small action will keep my flame going?

Lantern Prompt: What would feel comforting and doable this week?

Torch Prompt: What am I done pretending doesn’t matter?

Expanded Guidance: Pull your three cards slowly. Notice where your body reacts first, and what words stand out. Card 1 shows what genuinely replenishes you. Card 2 shows what drains you, even if it looks productive. Card 3 is your medicine. Keep it simple. If you want to go deeper, ask one follow-up question for each card.

Lantern journal prompt: What is one gentle routine I can return to this week?

Torch journal prompt: What am I willing to change so my energy stops leaking?

Week 2: The Quiet Truth

The Honest Ember Spread

Theme Focus: Name the truth you’ve been circling, soften the fear around it, and take one integrity-led step forward.

Card 1: What truth is ready to be acknowledged?

Card 2: What fear or story keeps me from facing it?

Card 3: What support will help me act with integrity?

Lantern Prompt: What is one truth I can admit to myself kindly?

Torch Prompt: What truth have I been avoiding because it asks me to grow up?

Expanded Guidance: This spread is for drama-free clarity. Card 1 offers a kind but honest truth. Card 2 is not here to shame you, it’s here to show you the protective pattern. Card 3 is your ally. It may be a boundary, a conversation, a new habit, or a spiritual practice. Choose one action you can take within seven days.

Lantern journal prompt: What would change if I stopped second-guessing myself?

Torch journal prompt: What am I willing to lose to gain my own integrity?

Week 3: At the Crossroads

Hecate’s Lantern Spread

Theme Focus: Honour what’s ending, recognise what’s opening, and call in clear protection as you choose your direction.

Card 1: What path is closing naturally?

Card 2: What path is opening, even if it’s unfamiliar?

Card 3: What protection or guidance do I need as I choose?

Lantern Prompt: What choice feels most aligned with my wellbeing?

Torch Prompt: Where am I trying to keep both doors open, and what is the cost?

Expanded Guidance: Work with this spread any time around 16th  November, or whenever you feel you’re at a decision point. If you can, light a candle and take three slow breaths before you pull. Card 1 may show what you’re outgrowing. Card 2 may show what you’re being initiated into. Card 3 is your boundary, your ally, or your ritual. Write down one sentence of guidance and keep it somewhere visible.

Lantern journal prompt: What do I need to feel safe as I make this choice?

Torch journal prompt: What would I choose if I trusted myself completely?

Week 4: Banking the Fire

The Hearth keeper Spread

Theme Focus: Integrate the month’s lessons, clear the last bits of emotional clutter, and carry only what supports your next season.

Card 1: What lesson am I integrating from this month?

Card 2: What needs to be cleared before I move forward?

Card 3: What do I want to carry into the next season?

Lantern Prompt: What am I learning about my needs?

Torch Prompt: What pattern ends with me?

Expanded Guidance: This is a beautiful end-of-month spread. Try reading it like a story: Card 1 shows what you’ve been practising, even if you didn’t notice. Card 2 is the last bit of clutter, emotional or practical, that wants to be released. Card 3 is the gift you’re taking with you. If you want to integrate more deeply, choose one small ritual: a bath, a walk, a journal session, or a simple altar refresh.

Lantern journal prompt: What would help me feel more supported next month?

Torch journal prompt: What am I ready to commit to, even if it’s inconvenient?

Tracker reminder

Don’t forget to try out the tracker. It gives you space to jot down draws and make any notes. By the end of the month, you’ll have a snapshot of what your inner world has been teaching you. (PS: If you’ve been using the tracker and have any suggestions or comments, do let me know!)

Share your draws

If you feel called to share your reflections, I’d love to see what you’re pulling.

Finally, a short blessing for the month

May The Quiet Hearth remind you that you don’t have to chase clarity.

May what’s true rise gently to the surface.

May your boundaries be clean, your inner voice be clear, and your choices be guided by self-trust.
