After a short break, I’m happy to be back with you this sunny Monday. I had every intention of doing last week’s Tarot for Creatives reading, along with my usual weekly newsletter, but when I woke on Monday – which was a bank holiday here in Ireland for Easter – I was still tired after a busy week of readings. As I shuffled my cards at my altar to do my daily draw, I thought to myself, ‘Universe, give me permission to take the day off without feeling guilty!’ and guess what card I drew? The 4 of Swords; the card of rest and recuperation! So I practised what I preach, accepted the message, and took the day off! It was a lovely day, too. I tackled a few creative projects I’d been itching to do, including wire wrapping two crystal pendants, and decoupaging a little wooden stool that needed some glamming up. Taking that day to rest and recuperate was exactly what I needed, and I returned to my readings on the Tuesday full of energy again. So it does pay to heed what the cards say, because I know we sometimes don’t . . .
Okay, on to this week’s reading, where I’m using the Aspire, Blocks, Overcome spread. It looks at what we aspire to, what blocks exist, and how to overcome it.
The Page of Wands with its fiery, passionate energy indicates we’re fired up on inspiration this week, thinking about new projects and considering opportunities. Free-spirited energy abounds, leaving us free to dream without barriers. With this go-go-go energy, watch out for impulsiveness. The hasty Knight and Page bookend the spread, so we might all be tempted to throw caution to the wind as inspiration sweeps us up and away.
"When the basis for your actions is inner alignment with the present moment, your actions become empowered by the intelligence of life itself. "– Eckhart Tolle
The Lovers throw obstacles in the path of our inspiration, challenging us with difficult decisions. Which project? What direction? Is it a worthwhile one? Should I be considering another option? Prepare for decision making to present challenges this week, and as you ponder those choices, be mindful not to rush to the path that offers the easier option. Sometimes, the better option is the one that presents a greater challenge, but it’s a challenge which will deliver a more worthwhile experience and better results, so don’t do yourself an injustice by picking the easy way out.
Consider your personal values as you make these decisions, too; does your choice feel right? Does it settle nicely within you, or do you feel friction? If you’re not choosing in alignment with your values and beliefs, your intuition will squirm in response, so heed that gut feeling!
Allow me demonstrate the dance of my people before I help you with
that pesky decision-making.
The Knight of Swords offers their services to you this week. Galloping in with sword at the ready, the Knight is prepared to slice through confusion to help you overcome the challenge of the Lovers. Knight energy can be a bit reckless, so do think before you swing. Action is good, especially if you’re faltering for too long in the decision making process with the Lovers, but avoid hastiness. Again, listen to your gut instinct, and stay aligned with your values.
Overall, with the Lovers sandwiched between the impulsiveness of the Page and the Knight, we should be able to make informed decisions this week, despite how the Lovers won’t make it too easy for us. The Page of Wands energy might be a little impulsive, but let's enjoy the flow of creativity it brings, am I right?!
Have a creatively inspired week, my friends!
