Tarot for Creatives Feb 26th to March 1st 2024

Hello, Creatives!

We had a Full Moon on the 24th, and we’re now in the Waning Gibbous phase, a time to clear space and let go that which no longer serves. With that in mind, today’s reading asks; What energy no longer serves me, How can I clear it out, What should I welcome in? This is a great spread for gaining clarity, no matter which area of life is clouded by uncertainty. Ridding ourselves of old, unwanted energy allows revitalisation to sweep in, so as you move through the week, try to take note of your emotions, especially those that feel heavy. That sense of weight indicates something no longer serving your greater good meaning it’s time to let it go!

King of Pentacles, 7 of Swords, 2 of Cups. Deck: Tarot of the Vampires

The King of Pentacles opens our reading. It's a powerful energy, one which can turn everything it touches into gold. Kings are masters at manifesting. However, when you flip this energy, we slide into the trap of materialism, where a need to possess all the shiny things takes over. The King brings an astute mind when it comes to finances and business, but when framed as something which no longer serves, we’re asked to consider our work/life balance. What have you ignored in favour of earthly pursuits? Are you enjoying stable, loving relationships and friendships? Are you taking time to rest and care for yourself? Are you regularly connecting to Spirit, or even your own intuition? Examine how the King of Pentacles energy is impacting your life. In its current form, it no longer serves your higher good.

“Boundaries protect the things that are of value to you. They keep you in alignment with what you have decided you want in life. That means the key to good boundaries, is knowing what you want, and what you don’t want.” - Adelyn Birch

The spiky 7 of Swords slices into the picture, indicating it’s time to take evasive action. The theme of this card is always a tricky energy to handle. Typically, the 7 of Swords is a card of skulduggery; taking an unfair advantage by wielding sneaky tactics. But when played fairly, it asks for us to take a logical look at the situation, and without inviting input or opinions that may negatively influence action, deciding on a course of action to swing the advantage in our favour. It’s hard not to use the word sneaky with this card, so be conscious as you make your move, that if this backfires, it won’t end well. Instead, adapt a more cunning approach. Swords are cards of logic, communication, and how we verbally react in the world. Keep your wits about you, and be clear yet respectful with communications, written or verbal.

The harmonious, loving energy of the 2 of Cups sweeps in, bathing us in blissful union. A partnership is on the horizon; it may be romantic, platonic, or business, but regardless, it’s one that will nourish your soul and remind you of the beauty and goodness that lies beyond the kingdom of Pentacles. Within a 2 of Cups relationship, you can expect a meeting of hearts and minds. You simply connect, and on a level you may have never connected with another before. It’s a mutually beneficial pairing, one which will assist in manifesting creativity, raising intuition, and most importantly, bringing in unconditional love. Open your heart to all the possibilities of this card! Healing often comes with the 2 of Cups, so if clambering down off the King’s throne and battling the tricky energy of the 7 of Swords has left you depleted, know that this will pass.

This is my first reading with this brand new deck, and I already like the energy it gives off. The 2 of Cups is a welcome softness to see after the 7 of Swords, and there’s nothing to say we can’t hop back into King of Pentacles energy once we’ve realigned our compass! Have a great week, creative souls!
