Tarot for Creatives January 10th to 16th 2022

Hello creative friends!

Welcome to another edition of #tarotforcreatives where this week I’m reading with the 3-card Aspiration, Challenge, and Solution spread.

Tarot for Creatives reading. January 10th 2022
The Wheel of Fortune, Page of Pentacles, 2 of Pentacles

The Wheel of Fortune spins into our orbit this Monday, reminding us of cycles, karma, and the adage of ‘This too shall pass’.

The cycle of time becomes more prevalent when we come into a new year. We’re dwelling on resolutions, goals, and aspirations, often using past experience to drive our inspiration and motivation. Both good and bad flow in and out of our lives, and right now, our aspirations are to stay on the ‘up’ side of the wheel. This card suggests our focus lies with progression and achievement, and how we’re taking an active part in aiming in that direction. There’s a lot of positivity surrounding this card, a strong sense of ‘let’s do this!’ which brings a real kick-ass energy into play.

The key to The Wheel of Fortune is knowing that when less positive times do roll around, we must face the adversity with strength. Change is coming, and with this card, it’s likely to be a dramatic one. But in the aspiration position, it means we’re ready for the shifts coming our way.

"We don't grow when things are easy. We grow when we face challenges."

Challenge lies with the Page of Pentacles. A card of manifestation and financial opportunity, appearing in this position it suggests too much focus on the finer details, failing to see the bigger picture as we potentially start sweating the small stuff.

There may also be the distraction of a new opportunity knocking a current plan of action off course. It could be that this opportunity feels misaligned with where we wanted to go, but at the same time, we know it wouldn’t be wise to disregard it. This is a ‘spanner in the works’ kind of moment, where something unexpected crops up and leaves us faltering. With the Wheel driving the energy this week, the advice is to look at the bigger picture and see if and how this spanner can be integrated into our plans—if not now, then in the future.

The solution to the challenge of our spanner lies with the 2 of Pentacles. Adaptability comes into play, the mindset demanded by The Wheel of Fortune for its positive and negative turns. The 2 of Pentacles brings balance and prioritisation, asking that we consider all aspects of our situation before making a decision. The 2 likes to balance things out, so check the pros and cons with rationality. Stay alert as you juggle these reflections. With the influence of The Wheel, the horizon is likely to change, so you’ll need to stay on your toes. Be practical, too. The earthy energy of Pentacles demands we wield more intellect than emotion when decision making. Time management is also key, so keep distractions to a minimum by making a timetable and sticking to it. Where you can, pause tasks that don’t claim priority.

It appears a week of decision making and focus lies ahead. It’s all related to earthly matters too; business, finance, and material possessions. While there’s not much in the way of creative energy this week, these more grounding aspects of our day-to-day lives are important. Overall, The Wheel of Fortune holds the strongest message: Change is coming. Stay focused, positive, and use intellect with decision making.

Here’s to a focused and successful week!
