Tomorrow is a New Moon and with it comes a reset. The New Moon is a great time to reflect on intentions and make adjustments. If something’s not working within your creative projects, make the necessary changes, or start anew entirely!
This week’s reading taps into the new moon energy by asking: What to release, What to welcome, Where to set intention.
The 10 of Pentacles is the card of security, wealth, and prosperity. It indicates a solid legacy. So why would we want to release such a positive energy? To gain a wider view, we need to take note of the next card in the spread; Judgement, which indicates rebirth. With Judgement’s message supporting the 10 of Pentacles, the message is to reflect upon your planned legacy and consider what might need changing. While you’re in a good place financially, there’s a call here for change. Take your family into consideration as you examine your plans. Perhaps something within the family dynamic demands fresh thinking. Overall, the message here is to take a fresh look at your end goal. Determine what needs shaking up, or releasing altogether. Life is fluid, and we need to move with it, so be open to changing your plans accordingly.

As mentioned, Judgement is the card of rebirth. As a major arcana, it carries a powerful message of starting anew, and in the Welcome position, it encourage us to embrace change. When Judgement appears, its a reminder to leave the past in the past. The you of then is not the you of now, so slough off that dead skin and stand firm in your present. This card also calls for evolution, a time to examine practices and behaviours that may belong with the old you, and not the new. Much like the 10 of Pentacles in the Release position, Judgement shines a bright light on your calling and demands you step into your power. Have you been quietly considering taking a new direction lately? Perhaps you’ve had the urge to make changes but are nervous of the outcome? That’s the energy of Judgement, calling on you to be courageous and move into a new phase. Reflect on your current creative situation. It’s time to welcome in a new era.
Here comes the Sun!
A second major arcana, and one bursting with joy and positivity! The Sun precedes Judgement in the deck, bringing a message of happiness and abundance in preparation for a shift into something new, so the message here is loud and clear. Lots of good things are coming your way. You may have a sudden epiphany; a new way of working, a fresh outlook on a project, a burst of courage that allows you to take a huge step in a new direction, and with the Sun at your back (or on your face!) that shift will come with ease and joy. As one of the most positive cards in the deck, it bodes well for intention setting. Dream big and happy, and with the innocence of a child. Don’t worry about the how; the Universe will provide when the time is right, but for now, you’re asked to simply set positive, abundant intention surrounding your creative workings. With the shift in energy indicated by the 10 and Judgement, expect a whole new horizon to open up!
What a lovely message this week! It’s great to see Judgement and the Sun side-by-side as they are both powerful, life affirming cards, and while the rebirth energy of Judgement can be a challenge when the card appears on its own, with the Sun pairing it, any challenge evaporates as pure joy rolls in.
