Tarot for Creatives Oct 9th to 15th 2023

Hello, Creatives!

As Samhain nears, I’m working with my darker decks this month. I’m really enjoying the vibes off my Murder of Crows deck. I have to be in the mood to read with this one, but it always delivers a read with a punch. Have you tarot or oracle decks that you favour at this time of year?

This week’s Tarot for Creatives reading dives into progress. This spread offers a check-in with creative endeavours by asking: What Will Assist My Progress, What Will Hinder My Progress, What Else Should I Consider?

Tarot cards on a black velvet cloth with candles and crystals
3 of Cups, The Tower, The High Priestess. Deck: Murder of Crows Tarot

Community comes with the 3 of Cups, a message to connect with your tribe to teach and share. A gathering of like-minded people will inspire and motivate, ideal for inciting progress. With celebration also a theme of this card, it indicates that getting together with your tribe may also help overcome an issue or block you’ve been dealing with, therefore giving you reason to rejoice. Reach out and connect this week. Swap experiences, be open to advice and support, and enjoy the high spirits that come from engaging with your tribe.

Don’t be afraid of change.

You may lose something good,

but you may gain something better.

The Tower looms over us in the What Will Hinder position. It suggests one of two situations; either pessimism has you waiting for the worst to happen, or an abrupt change is about to sweep in. If option one strikes a chord with you, then the Tower warns that doomsday-thinking is holding you back and hindering progress. Lean into the support of your tribe to shift out of this destructive mindset.

Option two, suggests sudden upheaval. This typically comes out of the blue, when we’re comfortable in our nest and oblivious to what’s happening around us. Being toppled to earth exposes the truth; all was not as we perceived, and this new order, despite how chaotic or disruptive, will serve our better good.

Breathe iiiiin and find calm

The High Priestess steps in to offer further guidance. She asks us to look within. What we need cannot be found in the external world, so she calls for us to listen to intuition. Contemplate new possibilities. If the Tower has razed your world, the High Priestess is here to help you reassemble, but with building blocks far more efficient and soulful. Listen to gut instinct this week, whatever energy the Tower sends your way. You have exactly what’s needed to get through, and if you need guidance, don’t forget the 3 of Cups and its message of community and friendship.

Community is key this week as we face into the chaotic energy of the Tower. But balancing it out is the serenity of the High Priestess. She’ll certainly soften the blow of the Tower, and unveil what we weren’t seeing. What has been hidden from you?
