Hello, Creatives!
This week’s newsletter lands a day later than usual as I was reading tarot at a retreat all day Sunday, and spent yesterday sitting in a clinic waiting-room to see a doctor about a foot injury. Normal(ish) service has resumed today. I’m hobbling around on crutches when not at my desk, so I’m happy to be sitting in this moment working with the cards.
The retreat on Sunday was the amazing SOUL 2024 retreated hosted by the wonderful Judith McAdam. It was such an uplifting day. My guess is that I read for anywhere between 40 to 50 people, and although I thought I’d be exhausted, I was nicely energised by the close of the day. On with the Tarot for Creatives reading! The cards are telling the story this week . . .
A regular visitor to our Tarot for Creatives readings, the 9 of Pentacles drops in to remind us of the importance of hitting pause every now and again to take stock of achievements and treat ourselves to a little luxury.
This card represents self-sufficiency, luxury, and success. It says ‘Look at how far you’ve come! Acknowledge your success! Treat yo’self!’ Self-sufficiency typically stems from a dedicated and determined work ethic, and 9 of Pentacles people are usually the last to hit pause and reflect on achievements. Neither are they inclined to put their feet up and enjoy the well-deserved fruits of their labour. So, when this card appears the message is to take a time out, acknowledge the amazing success you’ve achieved, and reward yourself. Nines indicate near-completion, so further expansion and success awaits. But in this moment, the message is to celebrate and enjoy all you’ve achieved.
“The more you celebrate in your life, the more in your life there is to celebrate.” - Oprah Winfrey
Sticking to the theme of dedication, the 8 of Pentacles brings a message of revitalised focus. Appearing after the 9, the 8 indicates taking a step back, but only to enter a new cycle of dynamic ‘doing’ energy. A new direction, project, or skill enhances current processes, and it requires a period of focus in order to get back into 9 flow.
Embracing the new learning won’t be an issue; getting stuck into the work is second nature to you now, and you already know that adding more knowledge and/or skill will only enhance your work—not slow you down or reverse success. Even if things shift into a new direction for a period of time, you’re not worried, because the path will twist and turn back to where it needs to go.
All your hard work leads to major transformation. Glorious Death sweeps in, instigating pivotal change that launches a brand new chapter. The old falls away, and in comes the new, a shining dawn chock full of every possibility. If such profound incoming change feels unnerving, know the Universe has your back. It always knows what needs cleaving in order to make space for Greater, so trust in the process. Remember; with two powerful Pentacle cards at your rear, there’s more than enough solidity, wisdom, and experience to navigate change. Have faith in your achievements and abilities. Death declares that it’s time to level-up!
