Tarot for the Collective

Hello friends. Another new week is here. It feels like only yesterday I read for last week. Time sure is zipping by. This week’s forecast theme is a request from a reader struggling with creative block. These questions can be applied to any form of block, not just creative, so if you’ve been trying to overcome something disrupting your flow, I hope this week’s forecast is of help.

I’m asking the cards; What is the source of the block, What is not being seen, and How to overcome the disruption. A reminder that September’s anchor card is the 5 of Pentacles and that I’ll weave in its influence within each card drawn.

Three tarot cards on a sunlit wooden table with crystals above: King of Pentacles, Strength, and 3 of Swords.

What is the source of the block? King of Pentacles

The King of Pentacles shows a block rooted in safety, stability, and the desire to have everything sorted and in order. On the surface, this is wise and responsible, but with the 5 of Pentacles anchoring the month, it can also point to a fear of not having enough, not being supported, or feeling as if you’ve been left out in the cold. You might be holding yourself to a standard of constant competence, believing you must earn rest, love, or belonging through productivity. This can create a subtle rigidity that holds you in place with a mindset of ‘if it can’t be guaranteed, it can’t be trusted.’ The King asks you to notice where you’re gripping the reins too tightly, especially around money, time, health, or your role in other people’s lives. Security is important, but it’s not meant to become a cage. Loosen your grip. Surrender a little, and allow yourself to flow with, not against.

Affirmation: I am supported as I build steady foundations, and I allow myself to receive help and abundance.

What is not being seen? Strength

Strength reveals what’s been overlooked, and it’s showing up as your capacity to meet things, but again, without forcing them. Self-trust, emotional steadiness, and the courage to stay present with what you’re feeling is key. Stoicism, often masking stubbornness sparked by fear, is not your friend right now. With the 5 of Pentacles in the background, Strength can highlight an old story making you believe that if you’re struggling, you must be failing. Remember, struggle isn’t proof of unworthiness, it’s often proof you’re stretching into new territory. You may not be seeing how much resilience you’ve already built, or how your softness and boundaries can coexist. Strength invites you to work with your inner world rather than wrestle it into silence this week. Feel your feels, and know you have what it takes to move through this period of uncertainty.

Affirmation: I meet myself with compassion and courage, and I trust my ability to move through uncertainty.

How to overcome the disruption? 3 of Swords

The 3 of Swords can be bitter medicine. It can point to to heartbreak, disappointment, grief, or an old truth you’ve been trying to rationalise away. In order for us to move forward from this heart hurt, something must be acknowledged, sat with, and then released. With the 5 of Pentacles as the anchor, the pain may be tied to rejection, isolation, or the feeling that you have to carry it all alone. The way through this isn’t to ‘get over it’ - again that warning to avoid stoicism. Instead, the hurt needs to be given air time. Speak it, write it, cry it, pray it, process it. Whatever release you choose, know that when you acknowledge and honour the wound, you stop organising your life and emotions around avoiding it. Take the medicine. The spoonful of sugar in the shape of clarity and the way forward will come with it.

Affirmation: I allow myself to feel, to heal, and to release what no longer belongs to me.

Journal prompts

  1. Where am I chasing certainty because I’m afraid of being unsupported, and what support am I willing to ask for this week?

  2. What does Strength look like for me right now: a boundary, a pause, or a courageous next step?

  3. What heartbreak, disappointment, or old belief is ready to be witnessed, and what would it feel like to stop carrying it alone?

This week’s Tarot Forecast points to a week of reclaiming stability without letting fear run the show. The King of Pentacles shows the block: a protective grip on security, amplified by the 5 of Pentacles’ themes of scarcity and belonging. Strength reminds you that your real power is self-trust and presence, not perfection. And the 3 of Swords offers the way through: tell the truth, feel what’s been held back, and let release create space for something healthier to grow. As always, take what resonates, and leave aside what doesn’t!

If you’d like support moving through these themes, you can book a tarot reading with me for clear, grounded guidance on what’s asking to shift, and what your next best steps are.
