Hello, Creatives!
It’s a dreary Monday here by the coast with ice and snow forecast later on this week. The snow is also forecast for our neighbours in the UK, and as I’m travelling to Scotland next Monday, all my fingers and toes are crossed for us to get a festive sprinkle on the streets of Edinburgh. No questions today for this week’s Tarot for Creatives. I’ll let the cards tell the story!
The King of Swords brings a message of mastery in communication and logic. A week of flow opens before us, where we act with both clarity and ease.
The King of Swords is a wise, thoughtful leader. A typical role epitomised by King of Swords energy is that of a counsellor; one who operates ethically, and with intelligence. This could be a mentor or manager; someone you can approach for support and guidance. It could also be an indication that you need to step into this role for the week by leading with example and calm logic. The King of Swords demands impartiality, so if you find yourself in a challenging situation, place emotion aside and act with integrity. It will be important to remain fair and not take sides.
On a very practical level, the King of Swords calls for research before making a decision. Avoid rushed emotion-based choices. Instead, examine the situation from all angles and ensure you have all the facts before moving ahead.
"Freeing yourself was one thing. Claiming ownership of that freed self was another." - Toni Morisson
Reversed, the 8 of Swords brings a positive message of release. This is one of the few cards in tarot whose reversed position is a welcome one. It indicates the end of a situation that has you feeling trapped.
Whatever jam you’re in, it’s about to end. Be mindful of how you got into this sticky situation to begin with. Was it through your own actions? Did you allow other people to back you into a corner? The reversed 8 along with the King of Swords heralds a powerful mental breakthrough this week. Limits fall away, the fog clears, and for the first time in a while, you can see things clearly. Use this view wisely. Lean into King energy as you plot your way forward, and learn from the situation that got you tied up in the first place!
Get that Laser Focus!
Another 8, and now that we’re on top of things, have regained our power, and can think clearly, it’s time to turn attention to the practical matters of work and finance. The industrious 8 of Pentacles is the card of focused dedication. When this energy flows in, expect laser attention, and impressive productivity.
Learning may be necessary, so be open to upskilling. Much like the King, there’s attention to detail here, but what’s key, is that here’s passion behind it. Happily buried in doing what you love, there’s a flow state in place, and with it comes great progress and success. Take a moment to consider where a new skill or further learning could bring enhancement. Put distractions aside for the week and really get stuck in. Great potential awaits in focused dedication, so swipe the King’s sword to cut away distractions and time-stealers. Progress and success awaits!
Lots of mental clarity this week! With it, we can expect to shift into a productive flow state that allows us to get stuck into creativity. Be open to learning and counsel. The more wisdom, the better! Have a wonderful week, Creative Souls.
