Tarot for the Collective

Hello my friends, and welcome to this week’s Tarot Forecast, which lands on the New Moon in Gemini. If you’ve been feeling the urge to clear out old junk (mental and physical), speak up more, and explore some new beginnings, it’s because this lovely new moon invites us to turn over a new leaf, try fun, new things, and communicate our desires clearly.

This week, I’m guiding us into this energy by asking what areas of our life would benefit from fresh energy, what new opportunities are waiting in this quiet new moon, and how can we communicate more clearly. Our anchor card for June is the King of Cups, and I’ll share how this also affects the energies.

Sunlit tarot cards among green plant leaves: Queen of Swords, 9 of Pentacles, 3 of Pentacles.

Where to direct fresh energy: Queen of Swords.

The Queen of Swords arrives this week as your guide for where to place your freshest energy: in the act of deliberate, courageous release. This Queen is the archetype of the clear-eyed thinker, the one who has lived and learned and is no longer willing to carry what doesn't belong to her. In this deck, she holds a severed head—not out of cruelty, but out of wisdom. (And who’s to say it’s not a severed version of her old self?) She has already done the hard work of discernment. She knows exactly what to cut, and she does it without hesitation or apology.

This week, she invites you to do the same. Where are you still holding on to ways of thinking that have expired? What mental loops, old narratives, or habitual patterns are quietly draining your energy? The New Moon in Gemini, a sign of thought, communication, and duality, amplifies her message: this is the time to clear your mental space with precision. And remember, the Queen doesn’t act on rage, so no need for drama. Simply see, decide, and act.

The King of Cups reminds you that clarity doesn’t have to be cold. Let the Queen’s clean cut be guided by emotional maturity: release what’s outdated without spiralling, blaming, or needing to justify your boundary. We don’t need no drama, right?

Affirmation: I release with clarity and courage what no longer belongs in my life. My discernment is a gift, not a wound.

What new opportunities are waiting? 9 of Pentacles

The 9 of Pentacles is one of the most quietly powerful cards in the deck. The woman stands alone in a lush garden of her own making, self-sufficient, refined, surrounded by the evidence of her own efforts. This is the result of sustained, skilled work. And here she is, fully inhabiting it.

This card as your opportunity position carries a two-part message. The first is the invitation to pause and truly receive what you've already built. Before new opportunities can land, you need to be standing on solid ground—and with the 9, you are. Take a genuine moment of gratitude this week. Not a rushed mental tick-box, but a real reckoning with how far you've come. The 9 of Pentacles says you’re more established than you realise.

The second part of the message is that new offers are incoming, and they're coming precisely because of that establishment. Opportunities around work, career, finances, and even health may present themselves this week. They may arrive as invitations, conversations, or quiet nudges. Because you've done the Queen of Swords' work of clearing the old, there's now genuine space for these to take root.

Together, the Queen and the 9 of Pentacles form a powerful pairing: one clears, the other receives.

What about the King of Cups? Well, he anchors you in self-worth that is steady, so as you receive the fruits of your labour, let your emotional centre stay calm and open. Abundance is safe to hold, not something you have to grip tightly!

Affirmation: I have earned the abundance in my life. I am open to receiving more, knowing I am worthy of it.

How to communicate more clearly. 3 of Pentacles.

The 3 of Pentacles traditionally depicts craftspeople; an architect, a sculptor, a patron, gathered around a plan, each one contributing their expertise to something none of them could build alone. It is the card of skilled collaboration, of work done well together, of listening as much as speaking.

As your communication card this week, it offers a clear directive: your most powerful communication will be collaborative, not solitary. Share your ideas. You have genuine expertise and wisdom worth offering, and the New Moon in Gemini is a beautiful time to speak up, pitch, propose, and articulate your vision. But speak with groundedness and practicality. There’s no need to over-explain or perform. Share the clear, solid truth of what you know and what you're offering.

Then, and this is equally important, pause to hear what others bring. The 3 of Pentacles is not a card about who has the best idea. It's a card about what becomes possible when different skills and perspectives meet. Be genuinely open to that this week. A collaboration may be forming around you, and whether it's a formal partnership or a conversation that opens a door, your willingness to both share and receive is what makes it work.

The King of Cups influence brings compassionate leadership to every conversation. Speak with warmth and steadiness, listen without taking everything personally, and let your emotional intelligence be the glue that makes collaboration feel supportive rather than draining.

The thread connecting all three cards is now complete: the Queen clears the mental clutter, the 9 of Pentacles invites you to stand in your earned abundance, and the 3 of Pentacles shows you how to move forward with grounded, open, skilled communication. This is a week of arriving fully into who you've become, and letting others see it.

Affirmation: I communicate with confidence and openness. My voice matters, and so does the voice of those around me.

This week moves in a clean arc: clear, receive, connect. The Queen of Swords helps you cut away mental clutter and outdated patterns under the New Moon in Gemini, the 9 of Pentacles invites you to recognise what you’ve already built and open to new practical opportunities, and the 3 of Pentacles reminds you that honest, grounded collaboration is the way forward. Anchoring it all, the King of Cups asks you to do each step with calm emotional wisdom: clear without reactivity, receive without rushing, and communicate with steady-hearted presence.

Journal Prompts

  • Where am I still entertaining a story, thought pattern, or inner dialogue that I have already outgrown? What would change in my energy (and my choices) if I released it cleanly this week?

  • What have I created, stabilised, or survived that I rarely give myself credit for? If I let myself truly receive my own success, what opportunities might I finally feel ready for?

  • Where am I meant to speak up, ask for support, or offer my skills more openly? What would ‘collaboration’ look like for me right now, and what boundaries would help it feel safe and sustainable?
