Tarot for Creatives Nov 4th to 10th 2024

Hello, Creatives!

Welcome to another Tarot for Creatives, and hello, November! This month we have a Full Moon in Taurus, Hecate’s Night, and Hathor’s Feast. November 1st brought us a New Moon in Scorpio, and Cailleach’s Night. For all the details on these events and more celebrations, check out the November Tarot Inspiration post.

Did you celebrate Samhain? I wallowed in a peaceful ancestral meditation while sipping on Cacao. The day before, I joined Luna & The Druid on their YouTube channel for a Samhain Tarot Special. Mischievous Samhain Spirits had great craic interrupting the recording, so I was constantly vanishing into the ether thanks to their shenanigans. However, The Druid did a great job of editing out all the disappearances, and the giggles we shared.

Queen of Pentacles, 4 of Wands, The Devil. Deck: The Star Tarot

For this week’s reading I’m using the Past, Present, Future spread, and working with a brand new deck I was gifted; The Star Tarot. This is a beautiful deck layered with cosmic symbolism. It comes with a stunning guidebook, and the deck quality itself is amazing; gilt-edged, and thick card stock. I highly recommend you check it out!

Nurturing Queen energy lies in the Past with the Queen of Pentacles. This is the energy of balance and manifestation. The Queen is a thriving leader in the work arena, and on the home front, maintains a warm, caring, loving environment. The Queen of Pentacles is creative when it comes to finances and career. When challenges arise, she uses her smarts to overcome them, always remaining grounded and centred. She’s also a skilled manifestor, and knows the power of working with nature, healing, and the elements.

With this card sitting in the Past position, it’s a reminder to lean into your wisdom and experience as you tackle current issues. Queen energy served you well in the past, and will continue to do so in the future. Reflect on how you manifested abundance in the Past and assure yourself you can work it again when necessary.

“Our future is only limited by our commitment to keep the momentum going.” - Anne Sweeney

In the Present, we have the 4 of Wands. Congratulations on laying a solid foundation! Hard work has earned you security, and now it’s time to celebrate! Connect with your tribe—whether that be colleagues, family, or friends—to mark this occasion. There’s still lots of work to be done, but at this point in time, take a moment to acknowledge your achievement.

Once you’ve danced your socks off, it’ll be time to face the future. Forward planning is key to building on 4 of Wands energy. Now that you’ve created momentum, it’s important to keep it going. Stagnation can come with the 4 of Wands if the energy of creativity isn’t kept simmering. While achievements are praise-worthy, further abundance and success awaits, but only if continued action is taken. The playful cubs in this card represent the need for nourishment if they’re to have the strength to move towards the mountains in the distance. For now, they enjoy the bountiful harvest, but the challenging mountains await.

The Devil waits in the Future, a card that demands we take on the tricky task of recognising our self-imposed binds. The Devil holds us responsible for our actions. Despite how disturbing his message and imagery can be, he wants to guide us through the dark so we can emerge into light.

Reflect on what’s shackling you. It may be unhealthy relationships, behaviours, or habits, or basing self-worth on looks, success, or glory. Although unpleasant, until we stand and face ourselves in the mirror, the binds we have created will continue to tighten. How would the Queen of Pentacles take charge here? Where would she direct her nurturing, selfless energy? We have the free will to do whatever we please. Do the work and release fear. The Devil promises freedom once we work alongside him to crush the binds we’ve created through our own actions.

The Devil takes the shine off this reading, but with the nurturing Queen of Pentacles in play, it’s a comfort to know her presence indicates the strength and determination needed are within. To carry on building momentum with the 4 of Wands success, working through Devil energy is vital, otherwise, we could stagnate and be forced to watch all our hard work go to waste.
