Tarot for the Collective: Autumn Equinox Reading

Happy Autumn Equinox!

I’m back from a short break visiting my sister in France and feeling nicely recharged. Since returning home, the temperatures have dropped. A lovely autumnal vibe is crisping the air, and after a night of frisky wind, fallen leaves are already scattered across my garden.

Today we stand at the balance point—equal light and dark—before we tip into the introspective half of the year. With the Forhaxa Tarot on my table, three Air cards rose together for the Tarot Forecast: Page of Air, Queen of Air, and Five of Air. Air speaks to thoughts, truth, clarity, and the way we name our world, so this week we have an invitation to tidy the mind, sharpen our words, and choose the stories we’re willing to carry forward.

Three tarot cards: Page of Air, Queen of Air, Five of Air. Vibrant designs with flowers, bees, and mystical figures. Bright outdoor setting.
Forhaxa Tarot by MJ Cullinane

Light: What part of my light wants more room? Page of Air

Fresh ideas are knocking! The Page of Air is curious, alert, and a little irreverent—she questions assumptions and isn’t afraid to explore a new angle. Your light right now is your beginner’s mind: the ability to notice, to ask, and to experiment. Give it space. Rather than over-polishing a plan, move with light steps and quick tests. Speak your ideas aloud, sketch them in the margins, ask better questions. Have fun and allow your imagination to soar. The Page reminds us that wonder is a sacred skill, so let your fascination lead.

Shadow: Which shadow needs acknowledgement or compassion? Queen of Air

This Queen is sovereign of discernment: clean boundaries, exact language, and an unsentimental devotion to truth. In the shadow, her gifts can harden into perfectionism, coolness, or a sharp tongue—especially towards oneself. The shadow here isn’t wrong; it’s asking for warmth, so reflect on where you inner editor has become an inner judge. Where might precision be leaning into pressure? Offer compassion without abandoning clarity. The Queen excels at graceful honesty: speaking truth with kindness, trimming what no longer serves, but never severing connection. Be mindful of how compassion flows this week.

Threshold: What threshold am I crossing, and how do I step through with grace? Five of Air

The Five of Air often flags mental conflict; debates that go nowhere, win/lose thinking, or the hollow victory of being ‘right’. As a threshold, this card asks you to step out of gainless narratives and into wiser conversations within yourself and with others. Choose clean exits from arguments that drain you. Retire strategies that cost more peace than they deliver. The graceful step is refusing to engage or invest in futile wins. You’re crossing into a season where integrity matters more than point-scoring, so seek dialogue, not duels. Let your energy return to what actually moves life forward.

This week's tarot forecast maps a clear arc: light a spark of curiosity (Page), temper it with compassionate discernment (Queen), and lay down mental battles that steal your harvest (Five). The Equinox asks for balance; Air offers it through clarity. Consider a simple ritual—open a window, ring a bell, burn a cleansing incense—then write one sentence you’re ready to live by this season. Keep it kind. Keep it true.

Journal Prompts

  • Where is my curiosity pointing, and what’s the smallest experiment I can make this week?

  • How can I pair honesty with warmth—especially in the way I speak to myself?

  • Which conflict, opinion, or mental loop am I ready to release so my energy can serve what matters?

As the light tilts, may your mind feel like the clear autumn air in my little corner of the world today: brisk, bright, and spacious. If you’d like a personal Equinox reading or support in setting intentions for the darker half of the year, I’m taking bookings for in-person and online sessions this week. You can also explore the shop for seasonal cleansing allies—Florida Water, selenite, and incense—to anchor your ritual work. Wishing you a balanced, tender start to autumn, and as always, take what resonates, and leave aside what doesn’t!
